Use "THIS" not +THIS
As I found out here [here at LifeHacker] Google changed the way we do searchs. Instead of using the +, use "xxx", for example;
"this" instead of +this
I've always been a huge fan of using the + to make sure certain words are Included in the search. Conveniently, the "-" (minus sign) works as well when you want to Exclude words. While my searches typically start out pretty broad, I narrow the results down by putting the "-" sign in front of the words I surely don't need. For example, I was going a search for:
how to change email signatures
and the top hits returned those about inserting signatures into Outlook. A simple change to the search to this:
how to change email signatures -outlook
Gave me what I wanted! Thanks LifeHacker for keeping me informed; Thanks Google for being awesome!
